Like carnival lights

Setting a hundred moods

Mysterious and lovely

Especially for two

And the rides go up and down

Roller coasters and merry-go rounds

That’s not us

I know it has only been five days

But I’ve got to say it

If the disapproving glances and whispers haven’t shown me

Nothing ever will

At the top of the Ferris wheel you told me

How much you hate good byes

And by this time tomorrow you’d be

Gone with all the rides

So I’ll just close my eyes

Hold on tight

Listen to the music

And enjoy the ride

I see love

Burning brightly

If only for a little while
